Who we are

We are a church where you are welcome to come as you are to explore what faith in Jesus Christ is all about. We are people whose lives have been transformed by Jesus and we want to share the hope we have found in Him with everyone. We are a church with a big bold vision – a place where we believe you can discover so much more to life through faith in Jesus, and where you can flourish and grow into all God has destined for you. In everything we do we simply want to help people believe in and follow the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

What kind of Church are we?

If you asked: “What kind of church is Every Nation London?”, the answer is that we are simply a Christian church. We want to be a church as described in the New Testament – the church Jesus says he is building to fulfil his purposes in the earth today. We are a welcoming community of followers or “disciples” of Jesus living by his amazing grace and for his great glory and purposes on the earth today. We want to share this wonderful gift of Jesus with you.

WHY DO WE EXIST?

We describe our mission as follows: “We exist to glorify God by making disciples and making a difference”. This means:

In everything we do, and the way we do it, that our great and good God would be glorified.

To make disciples is our response to what is often referred to as the “great commission” of Jesus, when after his resurrection, he gave his follower’s a world-changing vision to “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (See Jesus’ words in Matthew 28:19-20)

To make a difference is our commitment to be a force for good and change in the world, specifically on campus, in community, the city, and the nations through planting more churches.

We believe that every church has a unique field or fields that God calls them to work in, and for us  we are very clear that these are:

What we value

In everything, we value that “DISCIPLESHIP IS RELATIONSHIP”. This one value determines and evaluates what we prioritise and shapes our church culture.

This one value informs our relationship with God, with one another in our church community, with those who do not yet believe what we believe, and every other relationship.

This value is shaped by the new commandment of Jesus, when he instructed his disciples in John 13:34-35

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another by this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

This value focuses and inspires us to share the Good News “so everyone will know”, fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission to “go into all the world and make disciples of all nations”. (Matthew 28:18-20).

Our History

Every Nation London was started when Wolfi and Alison Eckleben responded to what they sensed as “God’s call to the nations”. This resulted in them being sent out from the His People church in Cape Town, South Africa, to start the work in London.

Having never been to London before, and knowing no-one, they arrived at Heathrow Airport on 4 September 1993 with their two backpacks and a vision. A great adventure was just beginning.

After a very difficult and seemingly unfruitful first year, there was a breakthrough, and the church has been growing ever since. Since then thousands of people from all over the world have been a part of this church and have had their lives significantly changed. Some have stayed in London for a few months, some for many years, but what continues today is the fruit of all those who have made a difference with their time, talents and treasures.

To date from our first congregation in London we have planted churches in:

  • China (exact location withheld)
  • Dublin, Ireland
  • Stratford, east London
  • Madrid, Spain
  • Slough, west of London
  • Gent, Belgium
  • Our first “grandchild church” via Dublin, is in Belfast, Northern Ireland
  • Our latest church plant which we have been privileged to be a part of initiating and funding is in Kampala, Uganda (You can read the story here.

THE EVERY NATION GLOBAL FAMILY OF CHURCHES

Every Nation is a global family of churches that exist to honor God by establishing Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered, socially responsible churches and campus ministries in every nation.

We have churches and campus ministries in over 80 nations around the world. Every Nation London plays a key role in the Every Nation Europe region, with pastor Wolfi acting as European Regional Director. Together with our Every Nation family we have a big “GOEUROPE2040” vision, which is that “By God’s grace we will plant a campus-reaching church in every European nation by 2040”! We welcome you to be a part of this through your partnership with the local church.
